This is a story I stumbled across on fanfiction.net, Author: BSparrow. It is a story based on the movie 'Almost Famous', this piece of writing is about the main character Penny Lane and the story of who she was and how she came to be the famous 'groupie', or 'band aid'.

Reveiw: In my opinion I think the writer did a great job of capturing the pain and vulnerability of the character Lady, who is later known as Penny Lane; The struggles she has in dealing with the loss of her beloved father and living with a mother who is more focused on self-image and when she has her next date than her small blonde-haired daughter who is in a world of pain. Ultimatley these reasons lead to Lady packing her bags and leaving home under a new alias to embark on an adventure of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.

Fanfic 2:

This story I found on Fanfiction.net, Author: Lyn Harkeran. It is based on the 1939 movie 'The wizard of Oz', but in this version Dorothy is in love with the scarcrow and misses him dearly.

Reveiw: I like the concept of Dorothy and The Scarecrow having a romance, it adds a more mature twist to the classic movie. In this story the author writes that Dorothy is now back home on her Aunt and Uncles farm in Kansas and her Aunt Em sends Hunk to go find her. He discovers her sitting in the over-grown grass crying and when he asks her what is wrong she tells him that she misses her friends from Oz. It is a short story, maybe just the first chapter and if so I am looking forward to reading the rest.

Fanfic 3:

This is another Wizard of Oz theme based story i found on Fanfiction.net, Author: Krudovana.

Reveiw: I liked this story because it has a dark twist to it, it is about Dorothy returning to Oz but everything is dark and airy, it is not the Oz she once knew, all of her friends are dead and she does not remember how she got there, she also has on silver slippers instead of ruby slippers, this may be a metaphor for the twist in this new darker Oz.

Reveiw: This story is about a girl named Brookelyn who used to be Paul McCartney's best friend before he became famous with 'The Beatles'. It tells the story of how Brookelyn is studying at university with a roommate that is obsessed with 'The Beatles' and how Paul tries to contact her but she refuses to make contact back becuase she is upset he left her and how she hates John Lennon.

Reveiw: This story is about the Witch of the North bringing Dorothy back to Oz to follow the red brick road so she can help bring back the the Witch of the South who has been kidnapped by the Wicked Witch of the East and along the way she re-unites with her friends, The Scarecrow, The Tinman and The lion.
