Summary: It's the beginning of the Hawke family's adventure. They journey to Kirkwall after the blight in Fereldan where their father had since been deceased. No money, no shelter, no status. The Hawke family have to start from scratch.
Critique: With 45k+ words, this fanfiction is incredibly lengthy but was super enjoyable to read. With each paragraph I was wanting to know more. But because of the length it would have been better if the author had broken down the story into different chapters. I think this would be considered an alternate universe since in the game there should only be one 'Hawke'. Marian or Garrett. In this story bother characters were present and how they interacted with each other was really well done.

Critique: This was really touching. The author comments that this fanfic was the first one she's written for the fandom but I really think she got the characterization very well. The only problem I had was she used a very cliched and overused scenario. Loved one seems to have died, main character goes into shock, but then suddenly loved one is actually alive. Cue happy sappy ending. Overall it wasn't perfect but it wasn't bad either.

Summary: Garrus has loved Shepard for a long time. What happens if Garrus has always loved Shepard but he never realises it until after she dies? This is a story of Garrus' emotions and how he coped with Shepard's death and her sudden reappearance into his life.
Critique: I really loved how this was written in Garrus' point of view. I could really feel Garrus' emotions as he learnt of Shepard's sudden departure. The author had a very good 'Garrus voice' since most fics i've read that has written in Garrus' POV has not done so well. I really liked how the author has used a lot of descriptive words such as 'feline and powerful'. The story had a bit of sadness, humor and sexiness which I thought was a very good mix.

Critique: The author was very well-known with the cultures of Asari. They have made sure to remember theinformation on how the Asari created babies. The author made Shepard into a 'big sister' type which I felt was very appropriate as in the games Shepard is very protective of Tali and I could see this scenario happening. Referencing back to the beginning with the offer to hit Jacob was really funny and a smart technique.
